My mom told me that I began writing songs as a young child. The first song I remember writing has this line in it:
"My momma says co-co-
cha-me-na-nah-ne-nah."
It is still a big hit today...with my mom!
In High School I wrote my first real songs... songs you'll probably never hear.
"I Want to Be a Rock Star"
and
"I Can Do as I Darn Well Please"
It was in the 1970's when I started writing down the songs that came into my head. So... I got myself an old accounting ledger to use as a lyric book. My inspiration came from the Beatles... who supposedly had a big fight over their lyric book after they broke up. I don't know if that is true or not, but the story motivated me to start a lyric book of my own.
Today, more than 30 years and several songs later, I am still writing music. Most of my songs are about my God and my life. Others... I kind of just make them up. I hope you find at least one that you like!
